Pairs ~ The Circle of Life

Sharing a pair, with Helena, for the last time this year.

We lost a beloved family member, back in February.....

.....and welcomed this handsome little chap into the fold three days ago.

I've enjoyed looking at all the pairs of photos throughout 2015, despite being a somewhat sporadic joiner inner myself. Thank you Helena, for providing us with the idea and a place to share.

I delved back through the archives to find a pair to share, for Helena's meme, today.

Pairs ~ Road to Nowhere

I've talked quite a bit lately about my boy away at university. It's not the only change that's taken place around here. My girl started her Illustration course at college and that means she's swapped her ten minute walk for a forty minute bus ride. To catch that bus I have to drive her to another town, 17 miles away.

This is what a typical Wednesday looks like.....

Morning

Evening

I'm clocking up 70 miles a day and it really does feel like the road to nowhere sometimes. And yes, I have that song in my head now. Do you? You're welcome.

Linking up with Helena, before I get in my car again. It's a shorter college day and we should be home by 5.30. Thank goodness it's Friday. Have a lovely weekend.

Pairs ~ Hardy Country

This morning I was looking left.....

.....and right.....

.....from the top of a five bar gate on Fontmell Down.

I'm so very lucky to live in the heart of Thomas Hardy's landscape.

Linking up with Helena today.

Pairs ~ Rain or Shine

As the holidays draw to a close here, I've been thinking back to Summers of my childhood. It's the weekend of the Great Dorset Steam Fair, which was an event we went to every year when I was a little girl.

Here I am circa 1970, in my lovely head scarf, looking delighted to be there!

Mind you I didn't look a lot happier when the sun was shining.*

Linking up with Helena today.

*Some of you might remember this photo from Storytelling Sunday.

Pairs ~ Heads or Tails?

It wasn't only sheep we discovered on our hunt around Bristol last week.

These whales have been woven from locally grown willow and the waves are made of plastic bottles, upcycled from the Bath Half Marathon and Bristol 10k run. You can read more about the installation here, if you are interested.

Joining in with Helena again this week. Pop over to find another sea creature.....or two.

Pairs ~ From the Scrap Heap

Joining in with Helena's photographic meme today.

We came across this fellow, in the woods, while out for a walk in Llanelli....

....and this one in the grounds of Dinefwr, both made from scraps.

Yet another routine hospital appointment for my girl this afternoon. I'll be round to see what other pairs have been found later.

Pairs ~ To and From

Today I'm taking part in Helen'a creative photography meme and sharing a pair of pictures (from the many) taken at my niece's wedding.

Pairs ~ First and Last

Today seems like a good day to share a pair of photos for Helena’s meme.

My boy, dressed as one of Starfleet’s finest, on his last day of secondary school.

And here he is on his first.

1st day

Blink and you’ll miss it.

Pairs ~ Hot & Cold

Helena has been running photography memes over at her Creative Maven blog for a couple of years now. I think “Pairs” is the third incarnation, following on from “Up and Down” and “Zoom In, Zoom Out”. I’ve always enjoyed seeing the photos on other friend’s blogs, but I’ve never got round to joining in…..until today.

Hot.….

…..and very welcome after a chilly walk.

Cold…..

…..but oh so pretty on the bonnet of my car.

Now, why exactly did that take me so long?
