One Photo & Twenty Words ~ Landslide
Not what I expected to find, when I reached Dinah's Hollow. The "School Run" was quite an adventure this morning.

One Photo & Twenty Words
Channelling the Fifties vibe. Polka dots, purple petticoats and......Converse. Well, what else would you wear with your prom dress?

One Photo & Twenty Words
Visualising myself sitting on this bench in the sunshine, while waiting at the heart murmur clinic with my girl today.
All is well.

One Photo & Twenty Words
I took this snap with my phone just now, to document my prom dress progress and thought it would be ideal for Abi’s simple monthly exercise. Choose a picture and tell its story in twenty words or less.
The decision has been made. Sometimes you need to ignore the pattern envelope photo and look at the line drawing.
PS If you are wondering, my girl’s choice is Simplicity 1606, view B, which can be seen in the previous post.

One Photo & Twenty Words
Today I’m joining the lovely Abi of Creating Paper Dreams for her monthly meme. The title says it all. Find a photo and tell its story in twenty words.
The fabric. Chosen this morning, pre-washed and hanging in the sunshine. The next step? Turning it into a prom dress.
I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

One Photo & Twenty Words
Abi had the idea to share a photo and tell its story in twenty words. Here’s mine.
Doing the school run. A rarity these days. The temperature had risen a degree, by the time I got home.
Winter finally came to Dorset last week.

“There aren’t enough bullets in the world to stop all the laughter that will eventually drown the hate and stupidity.”
Michael Moore
I usually steer clear of politics and religion on my blog, but I felt compelled today.

One Photo in Twenty Words ~ Carcassonne
Joining in with Abi’s meme, over at Creating Paper Dreams, and taking inspiration from the theme of her Christmas Club post.
Playing Carcassonne at the kitchen table and suddenly noticing that the table cloth completed the road. Who needs the tiles.
PS Despite the fact that I have selected the “No” option for Word Verification, it is still appearing. Apologies to anyone having difficulty commenting. I’m at a loss.

One Photo in Twenty Words ~ Poppies
Abi, from Creating Paper Dreams, came up with the clever idea of choosing a photo and telling its story in just twenty words. There was only one choice for today.
On a sunny Sunday in September, I stood in front of the Tower of London feeling overwhelmed. So many lives.
You can read more about Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red here.

One Photo in Twenty Words ~ I is for….
….ironmonger
A proper old fashioned shop. Here when I was a child and still serving the local community forty years on.
I’m joining in with Abi’s monthly meme and still keeping up with Photo A Day. Yay!
PS Did you spot the name of the Hairdresser Abi?

One Photo in Twenty Words ~ Beach
Joining in with Abi’s super simple meme today and I’ve just realised how appropriate my title is.
On the beautifully clean beach at Ayr. Paddling in the water. Enjoying the sunshine. Was it really two weeks ago?
Into our first full week at school here. All was well with the time table. Just as expected. Thanks to those that asked and sent good wishes for my boy.

One Photo in Twenty Words ~ Sunday Roast?
Linking up with Abi today, now that the last of the sleeping over boys has left.
I didn’t feel like cooking a Sunday roast. They didn’t feel like eating one. The solution? Hot dogs all round.
Surprisingly those sleeping over boys were all up at 9am. Maybe it was the promise of a full English. Having cooked that for six, I don’t think there will be a Sunday roast here today either!
Hoping that (if you’re in the UK) you’re not being blown away. Happy Sunday to you.

One Photo in Twenty Words ~ Rainbow
Joining in with the lovely Abi, of Creating Paper Dreams, today.
Up above the streets and houses, rainbow climbing high….
What can I say? I am a child of the seventies.
If you are too young to remember it, or didn’t grow up in the UK. Here’s what you missed.
That little project I was working on yesterday? I finished it. Yes, you read that right. I even remembered to photograph the stages as I went along. I’ll be back tomorrow with a tutorial, for using up fabric scraps, to make a quick gift.
PS Got that song in your head now? You’re welcome.

One Photo in Twenty Words ~ Buttercups
Today, I’m linking up with Abi at Creating Paper Dreams.
Does this mean the grass needs cutting? Can’t really call it a lawn. The fields underneath are making a comeback.

One Photo in Twenty Words ~ French Seams
Joining in with Abi’s meme over at Creating Paper Dreams.
My return to dressmaking. A dress with pockets? Oh yes! Just looking at that French seam finishing makes me happy.
I’ll be back tomorrow with My Month in Numbers and more on the dress next week.

One Photo in Twenty Words ~ Old Friends
A little late to the party this month, I’m joining Abi’s lovely meme.
Old friends. The best kind. The kind where the distance of twenty seven years falls away in about ten seconds.

One Photo in Twenty Words ~ Good Advice
It’s the 9th of the month (seriously?) so I’m joining in with Abi again.
Advice, to my Mum, from a neighbour. “Don’t ever leave her alone in the car, somebody will surely steal her.”

One Photo in Twenty Words ~ Angel Bear
A monthly meme hosted by Abi at Creating Paper Dreams.
Our angel bear, bought the year we nearly lost our girl. Christmas, along with the memories, back in the box.

In 20 words…. #2
I’m having another go at Abi’s clever idea.
The last time* I had short hair. Mistaken for a boy twice in one day. It’s been long ever since.
*Meeting the wonderful Una Stubbs, as Aunt Sally, in the summer of ‘81. Loving that the photo has rounded corners.

In 20 Words….
Abi from Creating Paper Dreams challenged her readers to tell the story of a photo in twenty words. Here’s my attempt.
“Press the button.”
“What will happen?”
“I don’t know.”
“You press it.”
One doesn’t like surprises, the other likes reassurance.
It’s trickier than it looks! Why not have a go yourself. I’ll be back tomorrow with another round up of shots for Rinda’s Summertime Photo Scavenger Hunt.
PS In case you are wondering. They did eventually press the button and the result was music composed by Jools Holland.
