Memorandum Monday ~ Stranger Things

It was a quiet weekend around here. I injured myself at the gym a few weeks ago and I'm still not quite back to normal. I managed to aggravate the pain around my shoulder blade on Friday morning. Making packed lunches of all things.

Rest was forced upon me and I did something I've never done before:

I binge watched my way through a whole series in two days.

I had noticed Stranger Things on Netflix back in the Summer, but didn't think it was my cup of tea. I'm not a fan of The Goonies (much to my boy's disgust) and I'd heard it compared to that. It was much more Spielberg and Hughes, with a nostalgia inducing soundtrack including The Clash and Bowie. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Are you a binge watcher or do you prefer to work your way through series at a slower pace?

Linking up with Sian and the Mondayers this afternoon.

Sorry to hear about your shoulder! I'm always surprised how little effort it takes to reaggravate a joint injury. I've never binge watched anything, but my daughter and her husband have been known to do that. The closest I ever came was watching several episodes of Downton Abbey every night when we first discovered it in order to catch up. Interestingly, we were staying with my daughter in Oregon when we did it. They were happy to watch it all a second time.

I'm sorry to hear the shoulder is still bothering you. I hope it clears up soon.

Binge watching? Now there's a question. I'm good with the theory, but there's something in my make up, or my upbringing, which is always telling me to "save things up". We always had to keep things for good when I was little! So I try to watch more than, say, two episodes at a time and I can't do it. I have to start on a different set and watch two there. Daft I know.

I am so sorry to hear about your shoulder. I have some inkling of how painful these injuries are ...hoping the rest helps. When I injured mine, it was the only time I watched two or three episodes of something daily for weeks - in my case, the Good Wife. Glad you've found something to keep your mind busy and entertained :).

Thanks for popping by my blog! It's lovely to see old friends again!! Sorry to hear about your shoulder, but binge watching a box set (how 21st century?!) sounds like just the thing. I see you're intending to sew some pyjamas! Love the fabric, and good luck!

Hope you are feeling much better. Pain in the shoulder makes you realize how much we use it for everything. I have binge watched sort of. When I am having trouble with sleeping & feel over whelmed by the lack of sleep I throw a DVD on like Downton & press play all episodes to which by the 3rd I have fallen asleep.

Hope your shoulder is better soon - I am having trouble with my elbow at the moment but my chiropractor says the shoulder is the root cause.

I do like a good binge watch, I love The Goonies so it sounds like my kind of series

I hope by now your shoulder is feeling fine. I binge watch occasionally and only in short bursts, which is really not binge watching at all, I suppose. And this reminds me that I've left a series in mid-stream before our travels - should get back to that. Have a good week.
