No desk shot this week, but I do have a finished project and a tale to tell.
Here's what I was working on last week. Trying to create an airmail look. I took the strip from the Butterfly Basics set and used markers to ink it up, alternating the blue and red. A bit of a faff, but I like the effect. I added tiny envelopes, punched hearts and finished off with some simple stamping.
It seems a lot of you were eager to know more about that unexpected shed. A few imaginations ran wild. You know who you are. After keeping you hanging for a week, I'm afraid the real story may be a bit of a let down, but here goes:
I told the children to expect a parcel while I was out teaching last Tuesday. The door bell rang and my girl answered. The chap asked if Mum or Dad were in, to which she replied, "No." He then said, "I'll just leave the shed on the drive then." She said, "OK" and shut the door. That would have been fine if we'd actually been expecting a shed delivery, except I would have had nowhere to park. My boy came to see what the 'parcel' was and she told him what had happened. He had the good sense to rush out and tell the chap that he didn't think we'd ordered a shed. On closer inspection of the sales docket the chap realised the shed was for no 16, we're 9!
Linking up with Julia and the deskers and hoping to get a chance to visit a few more this week.
PS If you'd like to see the rest of the cards we made in class last week you can find them here.

A lovely card to send if you have someone that lives over sea .Happy woyww jill #8
Beautiful card, love the "distressed" effect on the stripes.
Happy WOYWW,

What a lovely card! Such a great idea to copy a sort of airmail effect. Very nice.
I smiled at the unexpected shed! What a story, luckily with a happy ending because what would you have done with a shed on the drive...
Have a good week,

Ok,I admit....it was me! But then I love taking an idea and running with it :-). The Unexpected Shed would be an awesome title for a children's book, don't you think?!
That airmail card is cute, you've captured the 'look' perfectly. And I don't think there's anything remarkable about piecing strips of fabric together....I'm tight and don't want to buy anymore!!

What a hoot! Rather funny story. I would have loved to see the look on your face when you tried to pull in the driveway had the shed been left. Took a peek at the cards you made with the butterflies. I like that mesh stamp. Will have to look into finding one. I do like that last one for a man.
I love the card - especially those sweet little envelopes and hearts. The airmail stripes were definitely worth the effort, as Jan says you've definitely captured the 'look'! That's so funny about the unexpected shed - it brightened up my dull morning and gave me a laugh - thanks for that!
Hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by earlier,

I love that card and the shed story made me laugh x
Love the airmail look - reminds me of the time when I used to have pen pals all over the world! Good old times. It would have been most annoying to find a shed dumped on your drive, LOL! Lucky your boy was on the ball! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #28.
The card is beautiful. I love the little envelopes and airmail look. The shed anecdote is very funny!x
I love the card x
Would have loved to see your face if you had got home and found the unexpected shed on your driveway LOL :D
Great airmail look. The shed is quite a story. I am still laughing. Peg R 36

I would so love to have seen the look on your face if the shed had been left there. Also to have seen you all trying to deliver it to the right address lol.
I just love the look of this card x
So glad to hear you didn't get stuck with something that big in your driveway. Your card us just lovely for snail mail too hugs Nikki 5
Despite having missed the apparently wilder and earlier speculations, the reality was quite exciting enough for me! Reuniting a shed with its owner doesn't sound like a fun job! Well done to your quick thinking young man.
So glad you weren't lumbered with a shed but it would have made a lovely little crafting spot wouldn't it! x Jo
Love this card :) The shed story still made me giggle
Ooops well at least you didn't end up with said shed! Fab creation as always. Take care Zo xx
Brilliant story! If they had left it there you might as well have just moved your craft stuff straight in!
Glad the error was caught in time - trying to fix it afterwards is usually a real mess. :)
