What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #293

It’s more like “Where is Your Workdesk? Wednesday” around here this week.

This is the spot where my desk usually stands. It was taken down for the duration of the festivities and the legs were put up in the attic, by mistake I’m sure. Without them the top is little more than a giant tray so behind the sofa it remains, for now.

Instead of a workspace, I’ll share the other two cards we made in class last week. The technique here, was using a variety of small stamps to create the look of patterned paper, which we then cut up to decorate our screen cards.

This was our “Twenty Minute” card. Although it’s considerably quicker in class as the cutting is done by me in advance. It’s just a matter of some punching and then assembling. A design you will no doubt recognise as a favourite of mine, if you’re a regular visitor. I haven’t run out of ideas for it yet. I tend to make a batch in different colours/styles, ready to add a sentiment when I know what I need it for.

Joining in with Julia and her merry band, as always on a Wednesday.

Very pretty cards!! That's smart to make cards in advance but leave off the sentiment. You'll be prepared for anything!

Happy Crafting!

That screen card really does look effective and like a proper full size screen too! That little heart card is gorgeous, it would make a brilliant Valentine's card for those who dont' like the smushy stuff! I spy you have a Seasalt bag - there's a branch of that opened up in Marlborough about six months ago. They've got some lovely stuff but it's quite pricey....

I love your cards. Back in the day---when we had scrapbook stores, I, too taught classes. I tried to pre-cut and punch as much as I could to help things move along faster. I would try to focus on one particular technique and make the rest as easy as possible. It will be interesting to see when you get your work desk back up!

There's a couple of neat ideas: making cards and then adding the sentiment later, and making your own with flower stamps - I'd never have guessed that wasn't a shop-bought craft paper. Yikes about the legs, and hope someone climbs up and gets them for you soon.

Love those cards, Fiona. You make beautiful ones.

I can relate to the desk problem. When my basement flooded, the cleaning crew boxed everything up. I couldn't put anything together without the legs to the bookcases. It was a nightmare, and I finally opened most of the boxes and found them in three or four. Any place they could just stash them was good enough for this crew. Hope you find your legs faster than I found mine (grin).

Thanks for visiting while I slept. Happy WOYWW from #2.

Hi Fiona,

What beautiful cards. I really love the first one that folds out.

I like seeing how you photograph your cards in front of what looks like old children's books. Very cool.

Thank you for visiting me already!
Happy WOYWW

You are the card queen for sure. I need to channel you when I make cards x

Oh no! Missing legs!! I wonder how long it would be if you 'make do' all over the house before the legs are restored? I know Mr D would be back up in the attic like Flynn if I started in the lounge!!
I love the cards, and the design you often come back to? I never recognise it!

Hope you get your legs back soon. A fab idea for the screen card, I have just got the perpetual calendar stamp set and can see a lot of potential for using those stamps to make your own backgrounds

I really like your cards Fiona. They are so clean and pretty. I love that second one particularly. So clever to leave the sentiment till last.
