Me on Monday

The first Monday of the new year and it’s time for Christmas to go back in the box.

If you’d popped in a couple of hours ago, this is how you would have found me on Monday. I like to read the cards again, as I take them down, and think of the people that sent them. It makes the putting away of all the festive bits and pieces a bit less sad. I’ll just have to make the most of all the new found space….

….and remember the fun we had decorating.

Waving to Sian, as always, at the start of this week.

Ours has been packed away as well.

Yes, that's what I do too! I read them all and then all the handmade ones are tied up with ribbon and put away to keep in a special box.

Have a great week (and yay! to the girl in the stripey tshirt. I'm making a page about my stripe addiction)

I don't like packing away christmas but like you I do enjoy looking through the cards. My mum saves them and uses them for gift tags next year!

I have very mixed emotions about putting Christmas away! Part of me wants to get the house back to normal and the other part misses all the glitter and sparkle.

I read the cards again and then cut them up and make a scrapbook page or two. I have an album of just Christmas greetings from friends!

All my cards are in a draw at the moment, ready to be read again and then written in my mums book. But I'm already counting down the days till next christmas, which if you need to know is 354 lol xxx

We have one more night with the tree decorated, I'll miss it.

We have yet to take down our decorations. Most likely tomorrow and it will be sad. We love this time of year and it seemed to come and go so quickly this year!

Wishing you a lovely week! xx

LOL I recognise one of those cards ;) I am about to take mine down, the house always looks so bare afterwards :( But as I got some late Christmas cards (most of them handmade) at our crop at the weekend I am going to put those up for a couple of weeks - it would be a shame if they didn't get an airing!! And I too read them all again before they go to the local hospice to be recycled (except the handmade ones!!)

I like to give the cards a second look too. And I confess that I was scoping out your books pretty closely!

Yes the cards (and everything else) are down, but were re-read before being sent for recycling.....apart from the handmade ones...like Sian these are kept separately xx

Ahhh, that sounds like a nourishing and kindly thing to do with your cards :). I loved our tree, and I also love the space that is left. How nice that your young ones lend a hand!
