What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday? #262

Pretty much the same rubble as last week, with a few additions.

P1030498

The purple lidded box, that I take to class, was dumped on the desk when I got home and has remained there ever since. While I was unloading the boot, I noticed the MDF Christmas tree, top right, that I won in the WOYWW crop raffle. I have plans for that, but I really can’t think about ‘seasonal’ projects when we are just getting some sun.

My clutch containing hexie sewing bits and bobs, that I took to the South West Stitchers meet up on Saturday. Always a great day out, with good company, delicious cake and free flowing coffee and tea. Oh, and some sewing!

The little scrap of blue and white spotty fabric was tying up a bundle of loveliness that arrived last week from Sian. The very first square for my very own Friendship Quilt. I may have been a little bit excited and unexpectedly a little teary. I can’t wait to see what else my month brings.

The pattern came with issue 2 of Love Sewing, along with a free tape measure. How many of these does anyone need? I’d rather have a slightly cheaper cover price, or extra magazine content personally. How about you?

The washing machine is bleating at me so I’d better make the most of the sunshine and get the next load on the line. Looking forward to catching up with you all, over at Julia’s, once it’s coffee time. ETA: There’s no linky today as Julia is poorly. I’m sure you’ll all join me in wishing her a speedy recovery.

Only one more exam left, Physics for my girl tomorrow, then we’re done. Thanks to everyone who has left good wishes for her.

PS If there’s anyone, among my readers today, that fancies taking part in the “Ever Expanding Blog Hop” that I was part of yesterday, please leave a comment to that effect and I’ll tag you in.

Love seeing your desk! I managed to get hold of issue 2 of Love Sewing and am thinking of making the blouse - not sure a pencil skirt is my thing! I like getting free patterns with magazines, but now I have about 10 tape measures! Oh well I will always be able to find one now:) Love the patchwork, great colours. Looking forward to seeing one of your dressmaking projects soon, and what you do with the Christmas tree.

Some 'free' gifts are great....others not so much....I would think anyone buying that mag would already have a tape measure...and it's not the cheapest mag either....I think I'd prefer a cheaper price as well.

Glad to hear that your girl is almost done with her exams and that you all can relax for a while. I loved seeing Sian's square, and I'll admit that I'm getting anxious about you receiving mine! I keep watching Instagram for it to pop up, and I continue to worry about the postage issue that I mentioned to you last week.

Love the look of your hexagons! I just cut some templates and am putting together a road trip stitching bag for a little jaunt we have coming up in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for popping by, am feeling a little better after sleep but still not as well as I'd like :( Ah well. Resting and colouring are the way to go I think! Take care Zo xx

great looking desk with all the fun stuff just 'dumped' there. My desk is usually the depository for whatever doesn't have a home in the house yet! Thanks for stopping by my desk this week. I wondered what was up with Julia...sorry to hear she is ill. Vickie

Funny isn't it .. You wish you had an empty desk and I wish I had a busy one. I wandered about the tape measure too as I can't count hosny I have all over the house. The pattern looks good though, I rnjoyed making the bag from part 1 I had 3 issues for £6 offer so cannot complain about the price and I think the content was quite good, they do have to appeal to a broad range, I will decide after issue3 if I continue with it.... My big problem is time. Anyway thanks for your visit we will keep WOYWW going ready for Julia's return

It looks like your desk is just begging you to dive in and make something. Love all your fabric bits. Keep smiling and creating. I have a question about your beautiful header photo? Are those real housed on that pier? How do they fair in bad weather.

I'm glad you liked your square! tying it up has left it a bit creased - I'm trying desperately to think of another cute packaging idea for the next one now.

Tape measures? I need one on every floor here (and a spare in my handbag)

Always love the weekly peek at your craft desk xx

PS I keep tape measures all over the place - I am good at losing them so never turn down the offer of a free one LOL, I swear they run off with all the scissors that I lose and are having a great craft party somewhere!!

I love how you describe it as rubble - mine looks like a tornado went through. Love your little clutch - that's neat.
