What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #356

Desk Day again already. March is almost at an end and I'm yet to sew anything this year. The solution? A kit to make life easy and get my hand back in. I've always fancied having a go at making a tie and bought this, at the end of last year, when Sew Over It had a half price offer on their kits. I couldn't resist the polka dots.

Inspired by Jane and her friend Joe's tie making adventures, I dug the box out of my wardrobe at the weekend. I've ironed the fabric and pattern pieces, ready to cut out when an opportunity presents itself. You never know I might have some progress shots for next week.

Linking up with Julia and Co. this afternoon.

Great tie fabric! You've made more progress than I've managed on any project recently.

To be honest, I haven't had the sewing bug either since Christmas..odd, isn't it? There's just been too many other demands going on. Sam is home early for Easter, Rhys doesn't break up until this weekend, which is odd! I'm looking forward to having him home....hope things have been a little easier for your lad recently.
That tie is awesome! Love the polka dot fabric..I wouldn't even know where to start 😃

Ever thought of going on the great british sewing bee, Fiona? You are doing so very well with all your sewing - don't beat yourself up just 'cos you've had a couple of months off? I bet you were equally busy with other projects...
Take care. God bless.

Well that's a great idea. It never occurred to me to sew a tie. Please don't tell my hubby--I can only imagine the fabrics he'd choose! Happy Wednesday! Sandy Leigh #61

Love the polka dots! Good luck with your tie. Sometimes, when you need a little push, a kit is a good way to go.

My sew-jo has also gone missing, there just seem to be so many other things that are taking up my time at the moment but maybe a small project to get back into the swing of things might be the way to go. Loving the polka dots

I can't wait to hear how the making goes: how about a review of the kit? I've always wondered how hard it would be to make a tie

Well that is certainly something cool - a tie making kit. Oh yes please for progress photos. I like the shades of blue & definitely polka dots are the way to go. I would like a pink polka dot dress, only colour I can find is navy blue.

What a great idea and I love the polka dot fabric. I should imagine it's quite tricky, with little room for errors, so probably wouldn't suit me as I'm quite slapdash at sewing and hate ironing each stage, which is often crucial to the results!! I'll look forward to seeing your progess,
Have a good week,

Oh I love the look of that tie! You'll have to show us the finished tie!. For me it's been the reading bug that's been missing. I have so many books to read where I've been struggling to read them cos I forget what I read and have to keep rereading!! But getting there now so hopefully I can clear the backlog! Take care Zo xx 41

I love that fabric and can't wait to see your tie. For the past couple of years I've been thinking of making a skirt out of ties but just haven't got round to it yet!
