What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #304

I seem to be in a blogging time warp, at the moment, where it’s always Wednesday. Although this was the state of my kitchen table on Tuesday afternoon.

IMG_20150331_145457

Stacks of cardstock and kit leftovers being sorted into some semblance of order and I do mean *some*. Not an entirely successful endeavour, but there’s always another day.

The task I was in the middle of when you visited last week was completed to my satisfaction and that niggling scrap of green is now gone.

We’re on Easter holidays here and an empty kitchen table is a rare occurrence. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Linking up with Julia and the deskers today.

PS My cursor has a mind of its own this morning and it won’t let me go back and make corrections without deleting whole sentences. Very strange.

A year or so back I sorted my usable scraps into page protectors to make myself a cardmaking binder. I put in a solid piece of cardstock, if it was big enough for a card blank, then some coordinating scraps of card and patterned paper. I didn't add embellishments, but whenever I needed a card an didn't have an appropriate one in my stockpile, I grabbed the binder, flipped thru and picked a sleeve and made the card with the contents. I had a sleeve with a pile of stamped sentiments, die cut or punched out and with just a little work I could make something nice. It saved my bacon quite a few times when I needed a card NOW. And saved me from a pile of scraps that was overwhelming :) Sorting can be fun, and good therapy, but sometimes it just drives me MAD.

Have fun sorting, and a lovely card, BTW.

Happy WOYWW and I'm not fooling'!

*sings* Let's do the Timewarp again! It's just a jump to the left.........
I know what you, Wednesdays zoom around at the moment...bit like bin day!! My eldest boy is home at the moment, so I'm enjoying the cluttered dining room table too, lol. That's when I see him..he got a new PC for his birthday and is in raptures!! I know my place.......;-)
Love that tree stamp.

That tree stamp is beautiful, makes a lovely card. I know what you mean about Wednesday, comes around far too frequently.

Nothing better huh..a kitchen table in constant use. I suspect that the heart shaped aperture wrapped with ribbon won't qualify as a scrap? Well, it wouldn't here! Such a pretty card..funny about the green!

Good luck with sorting the cardstock...looks like you are well on your way with it.

I keep putting all the scrap at the back of my mind but it needs sorting and using!
It's a bit like Ground Dog Day! Wednesdays, I mean.
Love the card too. Happy woyww, Angela x 29

Gorgeous card and I love scraps - wondering what you are going to do with the tags with the punched out tree??? Next time we are away we should perhaps swap our piles of scraps and challenge each other to do something with it :D

Love the card, will have to go back and see what the green was about, but it looks lovely now!! I used to keep all the offcuts and then it got so overwhelming that I binned the lot! LOL Happy WOYWW, Annette #22

"Some semblance of order" is phrasing I totally understand! It is my most common goal. A goal with no beginning and never ending!

And, yeah, lovely card!

Lovely card - I like the subtle colours and would love to be swinging under that tree :) Whenever I have a sort out the finished result is only ever a semblance of order ... comes of having much too much stash so there's no hope for me! Have a great Easter weekend and a happy WOYWW today. Elizabeth x #40

Hi Fiona, loved that card when I saw it the other day. Really struggling today, am round late, had to go to Docs, got a rotten chest infection thats not clearing. Thought it was going after last week, but its come back with a vengeance. Now have another lot of anti-biotics, and steroids to take for a week. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz xx #37

That's a great card, Fiona. I love the swing in the tree.

I know just what you mean about sorting stuff... I make a start on my studio, but it's like the Forth Bridge. I never really seem to finish sorting out, before starting on the next project - so stuff gets pulled out and the mess begins all over again!
You've got some good "scraps" there though - I think you'll manage one or two cards from those!

Happy Wednesday!

What a lovely card (with swing) and those scraps will make a few cute Christmas cards. I have several envelopes where I stuff usable scraps in certain colors. When I need to puch something small, I look at the scraps first.

Have a great week and Happy Easter!

Is it even possible to get AND keep scraps sorted and organized? If you discover how, please share. Truly admire the tree card; simple yet rather elegant. Don't even try to figure out why the computer does what it does or it will drive you insane Happy Easter! diane #23
