What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #294

Today, my workspace has been my lap. Firstly in the hospital, for a routine appointment, and later in the GP’s surgery, chasing meds, just for a change.

It was an afternoon of drama, although that was before I left home. A serious fire, in a neighbour’s house, meant I was blocked in by two fire engines. Nobody was hurt, but apparently I was the only one to ask. Considering a lot of people were gathered outside gawking, I find that very sad. When they realised I had to be somewhere important they moved the hoses to one side so that I could get out. It required some tricky manoeuvres and I could have done without an audience of a dozen firemen, but we got there in the end. I’m hoping for a peaceful evening and very much looking forward to Wolf Hall and a little more stitching. The rabbitty hare is taking shape.

I’m linking up with Julia, but I don’t think I’ll get much visiting done ‘til tomorrow now.

Glad to hear everyone was ok and I hope not too much damage to their home.

Hi Fiona ~ This is fun photo to go along with an bit of excitement in your story. I hope you're doing ok now! And, I don't know about the UK, but here in the US having to work your way through a dozen firemen wouldn't be such a bad thing. They are usually very easy on the eyes. ;o)

Sounds like the kind of day you could have done without, on several levels! Glad your neighbours were ok - I guess most of the gawkers were filming it on their phones or whatever! what are people like...I like that you took your work with you to your appointments! Helen 4

Eek! about the fire! Glad everyone was safe. Wolf Hall was good wasn't it? Not sure whether I knew what was going on half the time, but I enjoyed it! Mark Rylance was fab!

I'm glad to hear that everyone was okay. I remember once in our street someone phoned the fire brigade because there was a skip on fire in a garden, but they didn't go and ring the doorbell to tell the people whose house it was!!

Some people behave in a very peculiar way don't they? Glad you & your home were un harmed. How many firemen? just so I can think about them again ;)

Oh your poor neighbours...so glad no one was hurt...aren't onlookers an awful breed, sad. Very glad that your appointment was routine, after Elizabeth's illness, we don't need anymore hospital stays on this list!
Admiring that you're taking the hare work with you...I always end up reading the magazines!
