With only a week to go until we're off to the Netherlands, I'm supposed to be whipping up a quick peasant style maxi dress at the kitchen table today.
I cut it from this fabric a week ago.
The rain lashing against the windows is not providing much motivation.
Hoping it looks more like August somewhere out there in the land of Deskers.
How cool to be able to whip up a peasant maxi dress. Have a great time in the Netherlands. My father's family is Dutch, though they came to America so long ago (1600's)'that I tell people only the name is Dutch, lol. It's a bit overcast here in Chicago, with some sun peeking through. Have a good time getting ready for your trip!

That looks really lovely and let's face it you might as well be sewing as the weather isn't up to anything else!
ReplyDeleteOH I do like your fabric. Hoping your holidays are fun & filled with adventures (safe ones of course).
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous vacation! I can't find a maxi-dress that's the right length, so making your own would certainly solve that problem! I hope you'll post a photo of the finished project---the fabric is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHi Fiona, hope you have a great time! On our list of places to go. I think I should try making something like this- my sort of thing, but I can never find anything I like. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #16 XxX
ReplyDeleteHappy Very Belated WOYWW. Whip up a dress! One thing I was rubbish at was any larger sewing projects. I always end up being slightly inaccurate with the cutting out (problem of shaky hands) and the finishing off is not much better, so best that I stick to small projects. Hope you are enjoying your trip. Ali x #20
ReplyDeleteI am late getting here and you may well have been away and back by now! Did you get the dress finished? I am in awe of anyone who can think of making a dress in a day!
