"What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday" is celebrating eight happy years of crafting, fun and friendship today. Who'd have thought it? I've been joining in since 2011 and met some very lovely people over the course of those six years. Here's to many more. Big thanks to Julia for bringing us all together.
I did have time for a little bit of playing with pretty paper earlier. I'm finally cutting into this lovely stuff, having admired it for several months.
I also stamped a whole bunch of greetings ready to add to some cards.
When I kit for class I can get four card mats from an A4 sheet and I end up with two little pieces, like the one in the picture above, left over. They usually go straight into the recycling because I know, if I keep them, they'll most likely never see the light of day again. This time I had a purpose in mind and I've used them all. Very satisfying.
Happy Anniversary to all you Deskers out there and Happy Wednesday to everyone else. I hope you've enjoyed some glorious sunshine today, like we have.
I did laugh about your scraps.. I have a huge overflowing box that will honestly never get used and i must be ruthless and throw them out.... Happy WOYWW Helen #2
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how we hold on to lovely papers for so long before using them! You will surely have some lovely cards using these! Chrisx48
ReplyDeleteI also have some older paper sheets that are at least 10 years old. I recently used part of one after keeping it for a very long time. You were right - that is very satisfying, indeed. Happy 8th!

I too have paper that is years old- I kept thinking I'd keep it for something special-which is stupid, because they're all special! I've become fairly ruthless about scraps, they have to be above a certain size now before I keep them, but i do have loads. Trouble is. when I go to use them, either they're not the right colour, or not big enough. i need to get REALLY ruthless and recycle. Have a lovely week, Love& Hugs, Shaz #7 XxX
ReplyDeleteI like those papers a lot! I have a file drawer half filled with scraps of cardstock which I actually use. I look there first before I cut into a new sheet. Patterned papers are a bit different. Most of mine now are 6X6 so most of it is gone by the time I'm finished with a card or two. I have a little box of scraps but almost never remember to look in it.
ReplyDeleteI admit... I have a HUGE stash of paper that I've bought for projects and then never used because I didn't want to cut into it lol
ReplyDeleteHave a Wonderful Wednesday!

Gorgeous papers! I've featured hot air balloons on some fat quarters today! It was hazy this morning but by this afternoon, when I took Hettie down onto the beach, it was really hot. My nose is a bit pink :-D
ReplyDeleteHappy 8th anniversary!

oh YAY that is fun when you can actually use up the whole piece of paper :) ~Stacy #42
ReplyDeleteHappy 8th Anniversary! Good for you using all your bits! And cutting into the paper; those designs would be in my hoard for ever pile! LOL! Have a great week.

I am in awe of those gorgeous papers. It would take me awhile to cut into them, too.
ReplyDeleteI thought of you right before I started making my ATC for Julia. I was going to use your baby wipe stamping technique for my rocking horses, but changed my mind and used a multicolored stamp pad instead.
Sorry I'm late in visiting. I had a commitment today, so had to be away from the computer. Happy 8th Anniversary from # 1.
I have only just started throwing out my scraps and along come you with a use for them!!! Typical!!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week

Hi Fiona. Only a day late in wishing you a happy 8th WOYWW anniversary! Sorry. Those papers are great - and as for those weeny scraps - don't we all keep them for ages? Then decide to throw...What a relief to find I am not alone.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.
