What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday? #266

It’s that time of the week when we all gather at Julia’s place to see what’s what in the world of work spaces. There’s always lots of inspiration to be found. Why not take a look?

I’ve been at the kitchen table again. Cutting out pieces of fabric, left over from my skirt, for a little project I want to try. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. How many others does she have on the go? A few, but they are all progressing….slowly.

Here’s my actual workdesk. Nothing to see here. Moving swiftly on….

….to what I was cutting out on Sunday afternoon. I had a big sort out of old clothes. My jeans collection is growing steadily and I’ll soon have enough to start that quilt top. This pair has a fairly high polyester content so I decided I didn’t want to include them. Instead I’ve cut out the pieces to make a bag and I’ve got an old duvet cover to cut the lining from. My sewing machine will be busy this afternoon, but I’ll find time to stop by and say, “Hi!” if you’re sharing your desk/table/floor today.

  5. Good morning, I'm doing a quick whizz round all my favourite blogs before I start my mammoth task of clearning some of my sewing mountain today.
Would love to be a fly on the wall at yours today Fiona :-) Happy sewing.

  7. Oh. Tell me about it! I've always got too many irons in the fire.....so we're in the same boat there :-)
All I could see from the last pic was REVERSIBLE BAG, which made me really laugh for some reason. I think that s a term that applies to me, actually, lol!!

  8. I've seen a quilt from jeans that includes the pockets. It was super-cute. Must see if I can hunt it down and send a link.

  9. One day, one day I will realise that all those jeans I have stashed away in bags will never go around my ample backside again. Maybe I could get them out and make something. Now that is an idea, instead of keep buying fabric that I never use.
Well done to you, hope we see the finished product(s)
    Hugs, Neet 6 xx

  10. Oh, I still love that skirt fabric! Better to have a few projects on the go and work on one of them, than only have one in progress and not feel like doing it

  11. Pretty fabric ready to go. Your denim bag sounds like a good idea - show us it as you go along please! x Jo

  12. You've a creative mind so it's why we have lots of projects on the go. Oh Fi, looks like a lovely creative table there :)

  13. Now you have got my mind going as to what 'old' clothes I can use to make stuff. I've ordered another sewing book to help me manage the basics. I've even dusted off my machine but that's as far as I've gone. Waiting for the new book to guide me! Lovely to see you here! Take care Zo xx 29

  14. Great idea using old clothes especially jeans as they never seem to wear out. I wish I could sew but it defeats me.
    Happy Wednesday

  18. Yes, I, too, like to have more than one thing on the go at a time! It takes a while - but I get to finish them all eventually. All the best with all that fabric and those projects! Enjoy.
    Take care. God bless.

  26. Having a number of things on the go is the hallmark of a creative mind :). Looking forward to seeing your jeans project - I once watched a fourteen year old spend a weekend making a bag from an old pair of jeans using just hand stitching - she's now twice that age and the bag is still going strong!
