I taught my last class of the Summer term last week and we made a little treat box, which I shared a sneak peek of on Wednesday.
It’s a very simple box, scored and folded from a rectangle, with a few bits cut away to form the tabs and lid. Covered with a doily and fastened with a piece of bakers twine, held in place by a cluster of stamped and punched embellishments.
Sticking with that colour scheme we tried our hand at Triple Stamping. The card looks complicated, but it really isn’t. Cutting the cardstock mats is a bit time consuming, but once that is done, the whole thing comes together very easily.
Rather than everyone having to queue up, to use the same stamps, I cut kits in two different colour schemes and everyone got to make both over the course of the class. It was a lot of cutting for me, but well worth the end results for everyone.
This is a great design/technique if you are a beginner stamper with only a couple of stamps and ink colours. I’ve used two (from the same set) in both these examples, but it could be done with just one stamp, if that’s what you happen to have on hand. It would look very striking in black and white. Why not give it a go.
love the whole concept of this and the triple stamping card is gorgeous in that shade of blue too

I love that box, so cute!
ReplyDeleteHi Fiona. It's good to get back here and get caught up with what you have been up to while I've been away. I like the look of that fast curry: it sounds perfect for a sunny day. Though maybe a bit less sun and those pollen levels would be more comfortable? Hope he's managing..
ReplyDeleteYour stamping is so beautiful! And I love the gift box - made from one of my favorite colors too!
ReplyDeleteI do like your little box - very sweet, and the way you have photographed it is very appealing too!
