Neither the kitchen table or the ironing board today. Not enough room on either so I’m spread out across the lounge floor instead. Well not me, the fabric, obviously.
I’ve been searching local charity shops for pillowcases, for a while, with no joy. Yesterday I found this 2 yard length of cotton fabric for £2.50, which will be perfect to make a couple of pillowcase dresses for Dress a Girl Around the World.
The pattern is printed out and the fabric is on the line. If rain doesn’t stop play, then I’ll be cutting the dresses out later.
For more desks and maybe a couple of floors head on over to Julia’s place.

Love your fabric, I'm sure it will make a beautiful dress. Hugs Rita xx
It did make me laugh when you said you were spread out on the floor! The fabric will make sweet little dresses for such a great cause.
Mr Sunshine has been out in our city today too - first time in ages I've managed to get some washing on the line.
This will make such a pretty dress!
A perfect fabric for the dresses - I'm looking forward to seeing the end result :)
Lovely bright fabric - and a bargain to boot! Have fun making the little dresses...do you find using a rotary cutter better than ordinary scissors. I love my sharp fabric ones but sometimes wonder if the rotary is better.
Have a great week :)

OK, was laughing at you being spread out over the floor, was dissappointed to find that meant your fabric, lol waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
That fabric will make some gorgeous dresses.
Nothing wrong with spreading out when you really need too!!!

Brilliant - I hope you enjoy making them as much as Annie and I did. Hopefully I will make a few more after Christmas. x Jo
That is a lovely idea. I am wanting to do some sewing. This might be just the thing to get me started. Before I let myself loose on the material D wants me to sew into her dress. TFS x

Good deeds for Christmas! Love it! I sometimes work on the floor, and have a little stool to sit down on. I am sure I will be using the stool soon to wrap my Christmas gifts! patsy
Love that fabric, the colours are gorgeous. I haven't got down to floor level yet, but thats only because I am too scared of what I will be able to see under the furniture, lol. I can see enough dust on top!Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #98
Love the colour of your fabric, sewing is really not my thing, only when forced.

Cool fabric! Good luck with the sewing! Hugs Nan 114
Yay! Can't wait to see them. I got as far as cutting out some pattern pieces a while ago, and then got waylaid with other stuff! It wasn't until I went to the sewing day at Cordial and Grace that I actually made one. The pillowcase dresses are simpler-less cutting!
That's a lucky find and I was intrigued by the project itself - going to have another read of it. Hoping the sewing goes well ...
I am getting a sewing machine for Christmas and am hoping to do lots of sewing over the winter :) It has been many many years :/
