On the kitchen table this morning, the leftovers and scratch paper from sample making and kit assembling.
The first class of the month is a four card session. Usually building on skills I've already taught. Nice and relaxed with plenty of time to chat. It's not all about the card making. Here's one of them....
We've done ombre stamping before, but not directly to the card mat in one layer. There may have been a collective holding in of breath as the last few balloons were stamped. I think it's an impressive effect, using just one inkpad and one stamp.
An extra balloon was added with a foam pad to give some dimension and take the pressure off getting the sentiment straight. Also handy to cover up a less than perfect impression, if needed.
Linking up with Julia and the Deskers this gloriously sunny afternoon. Happy Wednesday to you.
Hi Fiona, I LOVE that card! It looks really simple, but I would have been terrified of getting a poor impression somewhere, so I know it's not as easy as it looks!Have a great week, hugs, Shaz #9 xx
ReplyDeleteLovely card, great effect. Happy WOYWW BJ#51
ReplyDeleteThat is a great affect. Ombré stamping. When I first started, it was called using 2nd,3rd (whatever) generation of ink and the scramble was to find a good quality ink pad that you coul go three or four times from. It remains a good test for me, these SU! Ink pads are so good.
ReplyDeleteLove that card, you come up with some brilliant ideas :)
ReplyDeleteWell! That's just pretty and I love the ombré effect 💖 I can just imagine the shaking hands doing the final row though!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the hair cutting tomorrow....we'll need pics 😊

What a fabulous technique - I've never heard of it but I do stamp off ink sometimes to get a lighter impression - little did I know I'm doing the ombre technique! The card is quite spectacular and I love the colour your chose.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by earlier, and I hope you have a great week,
