SIPIDI-Do-Dah!

I've been meaning to resurrect my SIPIDI! meme for the longest time. When the last week of the month approaches I think about it and then, without warning, we arrive in the next month while I wasn't looking! What to do about that?

I thought about it a bit more and decided to make SIPIDI! a two part affair. I'll post on the second Friday of the month with one or two (or more) things from my Pinterest boards that have inspired me. Then on the last Friday of the month, I'll post what (if anything) I've actually done about it.

Today's offerings are a Cafetiere Cosy from Very Berry Handmade, which I have in mind for a coffee loving friend, and a Ginger skirt hack from Colette. You might remember I made myself a denim Ginger earlier this year and I love the A line style. I've been planning to make another and pockets can only make it even better.

If you're new around here and have no idea what I'm talking about, then check out my original SIPIDI! post here. Both my pins for this month happen to be sewing related, but yours don't need to be. It might be a new recipe you've been meaning to try, a card design or scrap book page that's inspired you, or anything else at all. If you took the trouble to pin it, it must be worth a second look. Right?

Who's ready to See It, Pin It, Do It? Let me know in the comments and I'll be sure to follow your efforts. There'll be a new Pinterest board and I'll do my best to figure out adding a Linky List for the second blog post of the month. I'm looking forward to seeing what's inspired you this October.

PS Please don't feel you can't comment, if you don't want to take part. You might not be a Pinner, I realise that not everyone is. I'd still love to hear your thoughts.

  1. That's a very nice caferiere cosy - though I'd need mine coffee-coloured, I think! I am not really a Pinterest user but will be very interested in your posts and how the 'doing' bit goes.

  2. Both items, although different to each other, are lovely! I don't Pinterest at all, too dangerous!

  3. What a great idea! I'm looking forward to your posts. I do Pinterest, but only when I have LOTS of time. I can easily get lost there for hours.

  6. Fab pins - linkys are really easy to do, I had to do a crash course for Beat The Christmas Rush - if a computer dunce like me can do it, then you will manage it no problem. If you want some help, then just yell :D

  7. I enjoy Pinterest wanderings and get lost in there sometimes for hours. My new discipline is to set a timer for 45 minutes and stick to that time. I like the cup cosy. I will go check out your original post on this meme ...

  12. The cafetiere cosy looks pretty, and fairly easy to make; that skirt would defeat me though. It's great to see the revival of SIPIDI. I don't do Pinterest, but I do save bookmarks in my browser when I see something interesting.

I've been meaning to walk The Line - a new sculpture walk that (very roughly) follows the Greenwich meridian from the O2 to the Olympic Park - since I read about it. I'll be aiming to do that before the end of October. Thanks for giving me the push to get on and do it.

I use a linky tool from Inlinkz which I found to be fairly straightforward.

  13. I think it's a great idea to split it in too and I may even have a go at some of the pins you share x

  15. It's so good to see this back! Splitting it in two is going to work really well. That skirt is fab (and beautifully modelled by a very trim waist, if I may say so!)

  16. To be honest, most of my pins have been puppy training recently ...marked them and well let's just say it's a work in progress lol

I've always thought this such a good idea of yours Fi x

  17. I used to do posts titled Pinspiration, I've actually been doing quite a bit so maybe I'll start sharing again. I have been on such a long blog hiatus I feel bursting with things to post about lol A friend and I did Halloween Pinspiration tonight that I'll share this week. The skirt is very cute and the cozy would make a great Christmas gift for friends. Look forward to seeing what you do with the inspiration ;)

  18. Love the cafetiere cover! Lovely fabric. Love the ginger skirt too. I haven't made that one, but had some success with Sewaholics Hollyburn skirt. I've been pinning ideas for Christmas quilts. One day I'll make one!

  19. Love that little cozy - too bad neither of us drinks coffee. I'll try and remember SIPID at the beginning of November seeing as it's too late to post what has inspired me on Pinterest this month.
