He may have only lived in this city for 10 days, but he was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide. The sun shone for us and we had a wonderful day.
On the drive home, the moon was sitting just above the trees and seemed enormous. I tried to capture it, but at 70 miles an hour it proved impossible to get a clear shot. I was the passenger, in case you were wondering.
I had planned to wait up for the lunar eclipse last night, but I just couldn't stay awake. Did you see it? Those of my friends who did, said it was pretty special.
As for Monday, I've just returned from the chiropractor and am happy to report that, after a month of visits, I no longer have one leg shorter than the other! Waving to Sian to everyone else giving us a glimpse into their weekend.
Sunday can indeed be a funny old day and if the wobbles are going to strike I can totally understand why it happens. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that getting stuck into lectures and work will help and that he'll be able to construct a Sunday timetable that'll help.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some cheerier news this week!
My daughter hated Sundays too! Hopefully once he gets busier and makes new friends things will improve. That's an amazing moon, I slept through the main event too!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that you went down...we did with Rhys too. Glad that Sam is doing ok, it's still such early days.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you're no longer wonky too!!
Hugs, LLJ xxx
Hopefully your son's days will get better - it's hard without familiar structure. We tried for the "Blood" Full Moon but just before it was to start the clouds moved in and stuck around until the wee hours of the morning. Luckily we were able to enjoy the full moon just before. Hope you have a delightful week.
ReplyDeleteIt does get better - I struggled terribly with homesickness when first at Uni. Perhaps he could do some voluntary work (or better still paid work) to fill the day.
ReplyDeleteI totally forgot about and missed the super moon - and why do the eclipses have to be at awkward times? Couldn't it have been moved forward to 10.30pm or so ... I can just about stay awake until then x
hoping he settles soon - it can't be easy for them not having their mums around :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't see it...but people at work had photos x
I remember finding Sunday's really hard especially when I was a nurse in London. I do wonder too about Freshers week. I can see the idea of some getting to know time but ther is no real structure until they start lectures. I am glad you were able to go and see him. I am afraid I was too tired after my walking weekend for any moon watching in the night!
ReplyDeleteFor our kids freshmen orientation week is so completely filled with meetings and activities that the kids don't have time to get homesick - sounds like yours could use a little more planning! Glad you were able to spend the time with him though.
ReplyDeleteI completely missed the moon... night is for sleeping!
Good news on your leg :) hope your boy settles soon
ReplyDeleteI did get up and happy to say I saw the super moon, but I didn't see it as red as everyone else seemed to see it. I think I was probably too sleepy.
ReplyDeleteGlad all is well now with your leg x
Glad your legs are the same length now - most of the time mine aren't so I have got use to standing with one knee bent. I am sure dear son will settle down soon once he gets more structure - glad you had a nice day with him. I was so glad my grandparents lived near where I did my nurse training - the farm was my bolthole on days off and I didn't want to be on my own in the nurses home.
ReplyDeleteI stayed up for the eclipse - like Sandra I didn't think it went that red, it was more pinky to my eyes. Have a great week x
Hi Fiona! I have just found you from Julies Notes on Paper blog and am taking part in her #300in30days challenge. I got up four times on Sunday night to see the super moon and the eclipse and couldn't even get a sight of the moon because it was so cloudy! Either that or the dark cover WAS the eclipse and the reason I couldn't see the moon! Your photos are lovely. :-)
ReplyDeleteDelighted your back and legs are now recovered :). And I am sure your boy will have really appreciated your time and company - good that he's not too far away.
ReplyDeleteI often feel like I'm floating about on a Sunday looking for something to grab hold of as an anchor. I remember driving though the New Forest on that Sunday and wishing I was able to get a photo of that stunning moon x
ReplyDeleteHoping he finds a Sunday routine that helps him. Missed the eclipse here - it was clouded over. Delighted to know that you weren't driving and taking that picture. :)
