We're still embroiled in exam season around here. Another weekend much the same as the last.
Revision and prom dress fitting.....
.....and princess seams. Something new to me and involving a fair bit of trickery to sew. There was so much extra fabric to ease in, I thought I must have cut the pieces in different sizes. I hadn't.
Today you'll find me with a much easier task. Ironing the transfers, drawn by my girl for her friends, onto plain white t-shirts. It's a Shiba Inu, star of an internet meme. No, I'd never heard of it either.
Waving to Sian on this sunny Monday afternoon.
Oh yes, I remember those seams from my A level needlework days! I made a dress with a very shaped bodice and it was a nightmare to ease that fabric into the curve of the seam without any folds - I'm sure you coped admirably!
ReplyDeleteNot long now to the end of the exams and you can all relax and enjoy the summer!
Love that your girl has designed the t shirts for her friends.
ReplyDeletePrincess seams? Golly, that sounds complicated! I have enough trouble with ordinary straight stitch. Sending commiserations on the exam front and hoping it's over for all of you soon.
ReplyDeleteWow: that's so clever1 I bet they all love having a limited edition. before you know it, her tshirts will be an internet sensation themselves
ReplyDeleteWe're into the final week here. Last exam on Friday and not a moment too soon
It's been pretty much the same for us here this week. Great t-shirt idea..not that i've heard of him either x
ReplyDeletePrincess seams - sounds very fiddly - but I can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteThere's always too much material for easing isn't there! It will be worth it, the bodice will be just perfect, I know. We're very into anime as you know around here, and Miss Dunnit thinks your lovely gals drawing is awesome. I love the tshirt idea, what a great gift.
ReplyDeleteWell that's two lots of googling I have to do - one for princess seams and the other for the dog. Have a great week x
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see that finished dress but I don't envy you those seams!
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous projects there in the works. And who can possibly keep up on all the Internet memes.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the finished dress, that drawing is amazing x
ReplyDeleteSuch a lie yo idea to design individual and unique shirts. Hope the dress is coming along OK xx
