What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday #196

Just like last week, there is no actual crafting happening here today. I went away at the weekend for a DIY craft retreat and had a brilliant time. When I got home on Monday afternoon I couldn’t face unloading all my craft stuff from the car so it stayed there until this morning. Now it needs sorting out properly.

It’s rare that I craft away from home and I had no idea what to take with me. In the end I grabbed an empty cardboard box (just visible at the back) and took stamps off the shelf until I couldn’t fit any more in there. I did the same with inkpads into that shoe box. Punches and card went into the cupcake carrier at the front.

My scoreboard and boxes of various random stuff went into the bag at the back and my tool tote came along too. Just how many pairs of scissors do I need?! The carrier bag houses a pile of patterns that Karen kindly gave me. She was having a clear out and remembered I was taking part in The Love What You Wear Project.

It’s all back where it belongs now and I might just get the chance to use some of it again soon. The lounge floor from me, but other folk will be showing their desks as is the convention on a Wednesday. Join in at Julia’s place, or just have a nosey. Everyone is welcome.

  9. Oh great that it was such a good weekend. And can I point out that you only just have enough scissors. Really, by my standard collection anyway, I think you're safe!! Unpacking is the pits, and because you've got more than you went with, I'm not surprised that you put it off. Still, are you all inspired and ready to get all prolific and crafty now? Hope so, need your sewing inspiration!

  10. your craft stash looks like my car when I go to visit my sister and do crafting with her. I take that much stuff just in case I need it and then it is a job putting it all away again. Glad you had a great time

  13. So glad you had a great time!! Believe me, you need a few more pairs of scissors if you're going to compare with Julia! I wouldn't know what to pack either and take everything and the kitchen sink as well! Good luck with the unpacking :)

  21. I always find it hard to know what to tai when crafting away from home. Inevitably I always take far too much. Good though, isn't it, to craft with friends.
Boundary Mill bag? Do you live nearish?

  22. I have to say, I find it really hard packing for a crop - there is always something I've forgotten. So packing for a retreat would be my nightmare LOL. I do now though tend to take page packs made up, and I have a 12 x 12 RUB always on the go of embellishments which I use at home and just can take to a crop too :)
