It’s back to the ironing board for me this week and I have an hour before the children get home to do a bit more to my purse.
I have a lovely friend who I meet up with, every couple of weeks, for a coffee. When it’s time to pay, I get a serious case of purse envy. I get out my battered old Animal wallet, while she produces her beautiful vintage creation with kiss clasp (I’ve been researching) and I want to shove mine back in my pocket a bit quick.
I know exactly how I want my new purse to look, but decided I would have a trial run first. I bought this kit. Not the cheapest way of doing it I’m sure, but I felt in need of a little hand holding on my first attempt. The fabric is just so cute and it all looks fairly straightforward. It’s only the gluing part that scares me, the sewing will be fine.
If you want to see what everyone else is up to this week, you’ll find us all hanging out with Julia. Now where did I put that iron?
Making purses was on my list of things to do this year!
ReplyDeleteI got a kit free with Mollie Makes a while back, I'll have to dig it out.
Can't wait to see how yours turns out. Love the fabric
Take care

Ooh like the look of that!! That fabric is gorgeous - bet it looks lovely when you have finished it xx
ReplyDeleteI did my ironing last night Fiona but I ache today from standing so long. It’s my own fault because I hate doing it with a vengeance and put it off until I have no option but to do it.
ReplyDeleteLove the purse kit that you’ve brought. I personally wouldn’t have a clue where to start making something like that but I look forward to seeing it finished.
Happy Crafting!

ReplyDeleteLOL - your ironing board is actually going to get acquainted with your iron! I love when that happens and craftwork is between the two. Heheheheh
ReplyDeleteSo, are we all going to be asking you to make us purses, this is the big question?
Fabulous fabric, your purse is going to look stunning.

As soon as you said "kiss clasp" I knew what kind that was even though I never knew that was what it was called. The name fits! I love the little purse and hope you can make it to your liking. My purse is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. No really. It is pieces of cloth that look like two pieces of bread hinged together. They are held together by a little magnet so you can open up the pieces of bread and see the peanut butter on one side and jelly on the other. You unzip the top of each piece of bread for a coin/money area. I love it. It isn't very practical and I always have way too much change it in, but it's fun.
ReplyDeletehappy WOYWW! oh how cute! i hope it turns out just the way you want it!

Kiss clasp. I love that. I bet youve done and glued by now, and I bet it looks utterly fab. I have a Kidston pirse that was a gift. i feel onliged to use it because of that, and its not what i wouldhave chosen...sort of drives me nuts because it doesnt do what I want it to!!
