I’m really excited to be taking part in Ginger’s Mail Art Exchange this month and while looking around for some ideas and inspiration, I found a few things that I wanted to share.
Envelopes made from magazine pages by Amazing Mae. I can remember doing this when I was at school/college.
Back to school mail in a bottle at Givers Log. There are links to lots of other fun ideas, if you scroll down to the bottom of the post.
Pottery hearts with an address tag. I’m not sure how well these would fare in the hands of Royal Mail!
A pencil case full of bouncy balls. Another fun package to receive, although it was the beautiful stamps that caught my eye on this one.
This is just one of 100 ‘postcards’ sent over the course of two years. A very inventive collection, although there are a few I wouldn’t have wanted to see on my doormat!
I haven’t lost count, but there is just one more website I wanted to share with you. Mail Art across the World has some wonderful galleries full of envelopes where the main focus is the beautiful calligraphy. Enjoy.
Great links as always Fi, love the pencil case full of pencil shavings :)
ReplyDeleteLove the pottery hearts , but would'nt want to recieve the pencil shavings
ReplyDeleteNo, there always seem to be more than enough pencil sharpenings round here as it is!
ReplyDeleteOoh, how nice... some fun things there too - pencil shavings, with "Getting Ready" on the pencil case... very good!
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving me a nice comment on my blog - there was a previous post on the same topic - http://lizziemade.blogspot.com/2011/09/binding-makes-book-part-one.html
Oh what a wonderful post!, Now I would love the pencil shavings because I love the humour there. Great Ideas. I am joining in Gingers Mail art, something I have never done before. Thank you for visiting me x
ReplyDeleteSome great links here....thanks for sharing them.....don't think I'd want to risk sending those lovely hearts though.....and I think the pencil shavings are quite a nice quirky touch!!
